‘Arm Bar’ rule modification


A. What is allowed from the defender

1. The use of arm bar will be allowed only below the free throw line extended.
2. The use of arm bar with an elbow bent at 90 just to protect oneself and never to gain any advantage for the defender.

B. What is not allowed from the defender

1. The defensive player cannot use an arm bar to impede the progress of an opponent.
2. The defensive player cannot lean forward or put two hands on an opponent.
3. The defensive player cannot use an elbow to wrist (action) extension.
4. The defensive player cannot put a hand and a forearm simultaneously on a opponent.
5. The defensive player cannot continually jab by extending his arm(s) and placing a hand or forearm on the opponent.
6. “Hand check” is not allowed.
