Playing with a lot of energy after being upset by Welcoat the last time out, the Talk n Text Phone Pals are back in the coattails of the pacesetting Red Bull Barakos and the Coca-Cola Tigers.

The Pals outclassed a struggling Barangay Ginebra squad practically on all fronts and carved out an emphatic 105-95 triumph to jack up their stocks at third place in the 2007-08 Smart PBA Fiesta Conference at the Araneta Coliseum Sunday night.

CALAPE, Bohol – At least in their initial outing with Reda Rhamili, the Purefoods Giants proved themselves right in their decision to junk Darius Rice.

The Giants were back in their old scheme with Rhamili in tow, checking a three-game skid in the 2007-08 Smart PBA Fiesta Conference with an 88-78 win over the Alaska Milk Aces in their road showdown at the Calape Sports Center here Saturday night.

IT is not only Talk ‘N Text’s opponents which are often left dazed and dazzled by Mark Cardona’s game. Even Phone Pals head coach Chot Reyes considers the explosive guard as one big puzzle.

“I’m really just now learning how to work with Mac-Mac (Cardona),” admitted Reyes of the man adjudged as the Smart Accel- PBA Press Corps’ Player of the Week in the expanded period April 22-May 4.

DEAL OR NO DEAL

If I were to describe the current 2007-2008 PBA season, I simply would call it busy.  It gives me a feeling of the Ayala Stock Exchange with the trading frenzy that started from the preseason.  Player movements through trades have been constantly in sporting pages and have been the most I’ve ever witnessed in the PBA.  But it is not just the number of players that have moved, what you have to take notice of are the amount of quality players that have changed addresses.  No one has been spared this year; an MVP, BPC, Most Improved Player, Rookie of the Year, national team players, lottery picks and future superstars, have all been victims by the trading bug.
